when I watch anime, or read manga I take screenshots, trace the best poses and then add the guidelines so I can get an idea about what they did. I also pick out the advantages and disadvantages of each style. The face face on the left is developed using general features of the anime being studied, then elements of my style are added to the finished result and see if it's a good style to develop.
Hitman Reborn:
-Longer defined nose
-eye socket shadow
- curved sharp chin
(unappealing feature is also downward misplacement and distance between mouth, nose, and chin)

K anime
- smaller "realistic" eyes
-longer faces
-higher eyes
(unappealing feature where side of face extends outwards depending on width of eye, can create funnly looking faces without balanced hair)

not really anything important, just thought I'd post to let you know what I was up to

if there's an anime style/blend of styles you'd like me to take a look at please let me know
